Best way to wash (blanket, cloth, clothes) for bedding for pet RATS?

I will soon be buying two little ratties and I know everything to take the absolute best care for them except I want to know things like what detergent I should use, or whatever to make sure that it doesn’t harm them when I clean the bedding, I would like to use fleece or felt. Which should I use too, fleece or felt? Any washing way that’s great and money efficient?

Most people use fleece. It is softer for the rats, and very easy to clean. I’m not sure about felt, honestly I have never used it. Isn’t fleece a bit thicker too?

For detergent, use something as light, free of perfume, and organic as possible. Perfume will upset rats’ noses. And obviously the fewer the chemicals, the safer it is to ingest. You might be able to find pet-friendly detergents, but your best bet is finding something made for use with babies.
