How can i get my dog to Retireve a thrown ball? And Also return it?

My friend has a chihuahua (Or However you spell it) And really wants it to learn some tricks
Such as

Fetch?

How can he train it to catch a frisbee or retrieve a ball back to him so he can have more fun with his dog
He Doesnt even go for the ball

I think your friend has picked the wrong dog breed if he wants to teach Fetch. It can be done but I dont think its a chihuahua’s strong point. Basically you start off not throwing the ball very far and reward the dog for picking the ball up in its mouth. Then try moving the ball farther and farther away as the dog gets better and better at it.

Look at some of the silly things the dog does on its own and teach those things as tricks. That is the best way to teach your dog fun tricks.
